The 4M20-13/16-280 nitrogen hydrogen compressor purchased by a certain company for synthetic ammonia experienced piston pulling problems after less than half a month of operation, seriously affecting production

The original equipment manufacturer's processing speed is very slow, and the user contacted our company hoping to help solve the problem. After on-site communication, it was found that the high-pressure cylinder of the compressor is lubricated with oil and has a simple structure, making it easy to design and manufacture. From this, we conclude that the most likely issue is the quality of the plastic parts. Based on the working conditions of the compressor, a plastic component formula was formulated and new support rings and piston rings were processed, and then the compressor continued to operate for a long period of time to restore normal operation

Taking this renovation as an example, there are many reasons for the rapid wear of the piston support ring. It may be due to blockage of the oil injection pipeline in the cylinder body, defects or even uneven wear in the inner diameter machining of the cylinder body, serious unreasonable design of the piston support ring, or quality problems with the support ring itself. How to quickly identify and handle problems in a short period of time, and restore production, requires comprehensive qualities such as sufficient engineering experience and material experience.
