Working principle of pressure swing adsorption (PSA) Oxygen Generator
The basic principle of pressure swing adsorption is to use adsorbents to have different adsorption capacities for adsorbates at different pressures, and to selectively adsorb various components of the separated gas mixture at a certain pressure. Under the selected adsorption conditions of the adsorbent, the impurity components in the feed gas are removed by pressurized adsorption, and these impurities are removed by depressurization to regenerate the adsorbent. Therefore, generally two adsorption towers are used, and the pressure of each adsorption tower combined by cyclic alternating transformation can achieve the purpose of continuous separation of gas mixtures. Because the adsorption and desorption processes are achieved through pressure changes, this process is called Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA).
